Features & Applications:
Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) is a powerful relatively analytical tool, which enables to ascertain molecular structure including relative configuration, relative and absolute concentrations, and even intermolecular interactions. At NEIST, Two NMRs are available which are 500 MHz and 300 MHz FT NMR Spectrometers.
1H NMR and 13C NMR provide information on the number and types of chemical entities (both proton and carbon) in a molecule which can be used for  determination of  structure of unknown organic compound.

 

Also it provides information about different types of hydrogen atoms and the electronic environment of different types of protons present in the molecule, (by 1H NMR mode of operation).

When the instrument is operated in 13C mode, it provides information on different types of carbon atoms present in the molecule, the electronic environment of different types of carbon atoms as well as the number of neighbors a carbon atom has.
