Tirmira is a multipurpose plant belonging to the family Rutaceae. Their stem is used in traditional medicine for curing tooth ache. The leaves and fruits of Tirmira are consumed. Tirmira is a rich source of phenolics, flavonoids and essential oil with strong antioxidant properties. They inhibit cancer cell proliferation by arresting cell cycle and inducing apoptosis.
