Peperomia pellucida (L.) Kunth

It is commonly known as Poori patta and belongs to the Piperaceae family. Leaves and stem are consumed as vegetable. Leaves are consumed as salad in Kerala. Peperomin A, B,C and E are the notable bioactive compound reported from this plant. Pellucidin A, showed antinociceptive and anti-inflammatory properties, possibly inhibiting NOS (Nitric oxide synthase) in vivo.
