With a mission to stimulate the establishment and growth of biotechnology based start-up companies and to translate their research findings and ideas into viable commercial entities the CSIR-NEIST, Jorhat. Bioincubator will provide healthy and scientific environment to young entrepreneurs .CSIR-NEIST is an institute of education, training and research with a strong focus on capacity building. The aim of the CSIR-NEIST Bioincubator will be to support and nurture the innovators and to provide all the facilities which will be required to support them to move on fast track to success. CSIR-NEIST has expertise in the area of Agrotechnology , Microbiology , Molecular Biology , Cellulose Paper & Pulp processing, Herbal Drug Processing, Computational Biology, Data Science & Artificial Intelligence, Bio-Informatics, Genomics, and Next Generation Sequencing. The Institute has the State-of-art research laboratories and is well equipped with all the high and equipments required for scientific research.The institute has also been known for rendering high quality testing/analysis services for various samples like water, soil, fertilizers, building materials, cement, iron & steel, stones, oil & petroleum products, coal, minerals, fibres, paper, boards, natural products etc. The institute is well-equipped with high end instruments like FE-SEM, HRTEM, XPS, AFM, XRD, NMR, AAS, HRMS, GCMS, Confocal microscope, flow cytometer, etc.
Dedicated working space for incubatees and access to high-end instrumentation facilities of CSIR-NEIST are provided under BioNEST.
Regular training programs and timely monitoring of the progress of the incubatees are carried out to ensure strengthening of their skills.
A wide pool of scientists from CSIR-NEIST provides the necessary technical guidance to the incubatees to ascertain the technical accuracy of their product or service.
Necessary business mentorship is provided to the start-ups for scaling up their business, product diversification, marketing, fund raising etc.
In-house service is provided for IPR filing of Patent, Trademark, Copyright, Industrial Design etc. to protect the Intellectual Property of the supported incubatees/innovators.
To ensure adherence to the regulatory requirements for the start- ups and entrepreneurs, necessary guidance is provided to fulfil the requirements of scientific and manufacturing compliance, legal registrations etc.
Platform to incubatees for showcasing their products and services through expo, exhibitions, industry exposure programs etc. is provided to enhance their networking skill and opportunity.
Assistance to avail grants, seed funding and equity funding from funding agencies and private investors for proof of concept, prototype development, product trial, and scaling up.
