Aims and Objectives

Introduction

CSIR-NEIST BioNEST was established in the year 2021 with the financial support from BIRAC. It has the vision to foster biotech innovation ecosystem by nurturing and mentoring the Innovators/ Entrepreneurs to stimulate the growth of Start-ups and translate their innovative ideas into viable commercial entities benefitting the society. CSIR-NEIST BioNEST Bio-incubator provides healthy and scientific environment to entrepreneurs, startups and MSMEs of the region. The aim of CSIR-NEIST BioNEST Bio-incubator is to support and nurture the innovators and to provide all the facilities which will be required to support them to move forward and fast track them to success. CSIR-NEIST is an institute of scientific education, training and research with a strong focus on capacity building.

CSIR-NEIST has expertise in the area of Agrotechnology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Cellulose Paper & Pulp processing, Herbal Drug Processing, Computational Biology, Data Science & Artificial Intelligence, Bio-Informatics, Genomics, and Next Generation Sequencing. The Institute has the State-of-art research laboratories and is well equipped with all the high and equipments required for scientific research.

Vision

To develop and create a vibrant ecosystem for entreprenurship development in Northeast India and to create succesful startups by best utilizing the natural resources of the region and to develop affordable products addressing the needs of the largest section of society through start ups and MSMEs.

Aim

To create and enabling ecosystem for technology development and provide structural and fundamental support to build start ups and innovators across the country, specifically NE region. To support start ups to gain access to mentors , training , shared space, technical and business mentorship, funding support and other professional services that move onto fast track to success.

Objectives

Generate ideas and promote innovation. Nurture start-ups and their sustainability. Develop strong business models. Facilitate strong industry-academia interaction for mentoring start ups.

Facilities Provided to Start-ups

The CSIR-NEIST Bioincubator provides globally competitive and superior incubation services to young start-ups and innovators and helps them to become successful enterprise. The Bioincubator provides shared wet lab work stations, has independent lab cubicals which is available for innovators who need bigger lab and offices spaces. The Bioincubator also provides independent business suites which is available at a very affordable cost.
