The fruits as well as the other parts of the plant are used to treat different diseases in human in traditional medicine. The fruit is traditionally used in diarrhoea (unripe), dysentery, intestinal lesions in ulcerative colitis, diabetes (unripe), in sprue, uremia, nephritis, gout, hypertension, cardiac disease according to various reports and evidences.

Mode of Consumption: It is consumed raw when the fruit is matured and ripe.
